Free credit report
Soon you’ll be able to get your credit report for free. A recent amendment to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months. Consumers in the Southern states — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas — can order their free reports beginning June 1, 2005. For more information visit http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/freereports.htm

This is great news. I had an old tax lein that was invalid to begin with, that somehow got on my credit report that I didn't even know about. One other thought.. hope this doesn't make identity theft easier.
