Mrs. Penny teaching again - finally
Well after Mr White and the school board's unsuccessful attempt to ruin her life and to have her forever barred from the teaching profession, Mrs. Chaney is teaching again. Her job situation is outstanding. Much better than anything she could EVER have hoped for at Philly Elementary. Her kids are well behaved. She commented that she didn't have to say 'turn around' or 'be quiet' the first time ALL day. The Superintendent actually supports the teachers. We hope her return to her chosen profession is rewarding for her and fruitful for the students in the coming year.

Past History - NEVER
Mr White, it may be past history to you but it'll NEVER be past history to Mrs Penny and her family. We've put it in the Lord's Hands. We only hope that justice will be served. God Bless.

Ain't it a Shame
It's my understanding that 4 of the 5 school board members specifically asked for their child to be taught by Mrs. Chaney. It's a shame that when the time came for them to stand behind her and do what was right, they were no where to be found.

Regarding Mrs. Chaney
Be sure to catch the latest in the ongoing series of articles about Mrs. Penny in the Sunday addition of The Philadelphian newspaper.
Also, we'll be including 'somewhere' on the site, all articles that have been written on her behalf. I'm doing this because I truly believe that if all the facts of this case are shown to the public, there will be enough dialogue to and by the 'right people' to 'do the right thing' for Mrs. Chaney.

some ground rules to all
We welcome all comments. The free exchange of ideas is a healthy thing. It's the American way. BUT, we WILL require that you have the intestinal fortitude to put your name. We wont hide behind the cowardly use of anonymity. Thanx and God Bless.

How much life insurance is too much?
A woman's husband dies. He had $20,000 to his name. After everything is done at the funeral home and cemetery; she tells his closest friend that there is no money left. The friend says, "How can that be? You told me he had $20,000 a few days before he died. How could you be broke, already?"
The widow says, "Well, the funeral cost me $6,000. And of course, I had to make the obligatory donation for the church and the organist and all. That was $400 and I spent another $400 for the wake, food and drinks, you know.
The rest went for the memorial stone."The friend says, "$13,200 for the memorial stone? My God, how big is it?"
The widow says, "Three carats."

U know your from Mississippi if...
1. You can properly pronounce Neshoba, Chata, Nanih Waiya, Shuqualak, DeKalb, Kosciusko, Decatur, Yazoo, Pascagoula, Picayune, and Scooba.
2. You think people who complain about the wind in their states are sissies.
3. A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel.
4. Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
5. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
6. You know that the true value of a parking space is not determined by the distance to the door, but by the availability of shade.
7. Stores don't have bags, they have sacks.
8. You've seen people wear bib overalls at funerals.
9. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.
10. You measure distance in minutes.
11. It doesn't bother you to use an airport named for a man who died in an airplane crash.
12. Little Smokies are something you serve only for special occasions.
13. You go to the lake because you think it is like going to the ocean.
14. You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an outfit.
15. You know cowpies are not made of beef.
16. Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding date.
17. You have known someone who has a belt buckle bigger than your fist.
18. A bad traffic jam involves two cars staring each other down at a four-way stop, each determined to be the most polite and let the other go first.
19. You aren't surprised to find movie rental, ammunition, and bait all in the same store.
20. Your "place at the lake" has wheels under it.
21. A Mercedes Benz isn't a status symbol. A Chevy Silverado Extended Bed, Crew Cab is.
22. You know everything goes better with 'Ranch'.
23. You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply.
Finally, you are 100% Mississippian if you have ever heard or had this conversation:
"You wanna coke?"
"Yeah."
"What kind?"

Philly Baseball Team
Philly's baseball team plays @ 7pm in Jackson in the 2nd of best of 3 series tonite. They got beat 11-12 in extra innings in the first game.
Dumb!
I can't vote on anything today cause I voted Republican in the 1st primary. All the runoffs today are for Democrats. They need to change it and put the 2 parties together on the ballot.
Congrats to Coach Holland
Neshoba Central softball Coach Tommy Holland will be named Softball Coach of the Year by the Clarion Ledger this Sunday.
